Joe Lukasik is a Composer, Performer &
Creative Technologist

 

Formerly the founding Director of the Music Technology program at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Joe has enjoyed a rich interdisciplinary career spanning acoustic music, music technology and language technology. As a composer, his music has been performed at festivals and venues across the United States and in Europe. He is also active as a saxophonist and clarinetist. He is the recipient of the 1993 Barlow Prize for his choral composition Ho Hiyuwaye.

Recently, Joe has been seeking ways to recombine his interests by designing and building electronic musical instruments and interactive devices intended for installation in semi-public spaces. He has also returned to an early love of the visual arts by creating intricate and colorful textile art.
